Our Track: Daft Punk - 'Around The World'

Monday 5 November 2012

Eg. Video 20: Nause - Hungry Hearts

Artist: Nause
Song: Hungry Hearts
Genre: House
Year: 2012

The video starts out with the ident of the record label company and text introducing the song. The opening starts of focus as two boys walk towards the camera wearing leather jackets with slicked back hair. The camera cuts quickly as the boys walk through a shop with a two shot following them.

They pick up some drink cans labelled nause on them which links the band into the videos narrative. One boy drinks the can whilst the other sprays a passer by with the liquid from the can. They run away through the streets with different shots such as a birds eye view.

We then see the boys walk into universal studios which is the who the act is signed by. The boys get spoken too by two men a slow motion is used to enforce the bored look on their faces. The camera flashes and cuts and the boys try to enter a club however are turned down at the door. They then encourage girls waiting in line to come with them walk through the street again with what seems like a snorricam effect.

The video cuts between them on the streets and a party scene this cutting increases in frequency as the song builds up and they enter the party scene with the girls from earlier. There are lots of flashing effects used to imitate a strobe light. At the end of the video it just cuts to the two boys stood in a tunnel with a black dog and then cuts to black.
What we took from the video:
  • Shot types
  • Edting pace variation
  • Slow motion effects
  • Party scene ideas
